Message from the Director: Chris Staron

Bringing Up Bobby is currently in post production! Thanks to everyone who helped to get this project filmed! Shooting in January and February of 2008 in HD gave us quite a few challenges. Thankfully, the people of the Cleveland area really worked together on things from food to locations.
The movie is far from completion! In fact, it could be as long as a year before the movie comes out. But it will be worth the wait!
This project is important to me in many ways. First of all, like Between the Walls, it is designed to be a love letter to the audience -- something that lets you know what is on our hearts and minds. In the last few years, we have had the privelege of volunteering with teenagers, many of them goth kids. Nick and I have been talking for quite a while about doing a project aimed at goth teens that does not insult their intelligence or style of dress. Now that we have several friends who are of the goth persuasion, it was important to us to make something that gets it right.
Second, the movie is a comedy. Many people have said that comedy cannot be coupled with a gospel message. We took this as a challenge, and I think people will be surprised. Brilliant performances from Alex Hinsky, Marc Thompson, Jhey Castles, Brian Morvant and the rest of the cast will have people rolling, while also contemplating how seriously they have taken their own faith.
Finally, the movie has a strong message -- have you ever really owned your faith, or is it something you just pay lip service to? This question is very important. A lot of us say that we believe the words of Jesus, but are we really willing to own those words? To live them out?
